You’ve heard of Facebook, no doubt, and MySpace, given all their media attention. Did you know there’s a highly respected version of these online social networking sites, built with business people in mind?

If you’re not yet familiar with LinkedIn, it’s worth your attention. And if you’re not yet clear about this thing called “social networking,” try these resources for insight into how LinkedIn can be used to build connections and business:

On November 22, NPR aired the story, Social Networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting. While the primary focus was job recruiting instead of business networking, there’s useful information about how online networking works. You can read the transcript or stream the audio.

Business 2.0 Magazine/CNN ran a recent article, A MySpace for Grownups, that provides a really nice overview of LinkedIn’s uses.

And in his Intuitive Life Business Blog article, How I Keep Track of Conference Meetups: LinkedIn, the smart and savvy Dave Taylor offers an idea for using LinkedIn to follow up with folks he’s met at conferences and speaking engagements. Stop just collecting those business cards…Dave’s suggestion is terrific.
