Today is Blog Action Day. Bloggers all over the world are uniting to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind: The environment.
My contribution today is a roundup of excellent online resources to supplement the Green ADR Resources Roundup I offered last May. For your ADR business or your home, for our planet and for our future, take a few minutes and wander through these articles and sites designed to make green choices easier:
- No More Catalogs, Please: Reviews Catalog Choice, a not-for-profit that helps you opt out of the catalog barrage on a catalog-by-catalog basis. Now’s a great time to do it, before the holiday onslaught of glossy, environment-poisoning print catalogs.
- Have An Old, Broken iPod? Get Cash For It Fast: Keep your broken gadgets out of the trash. Here’s a review of one site, MyBrokeniPod, that makes it easy.
- Climate Change: What’s Your Impact?: Calculate your household’s or office’s carbon impact at the Nature Conservancy’s site. It takes about a minute and the results will tell you where you fall in term’s of U.S. national averages, along with suggestions for improvement.
- MakeMeSustainable: This is a new beta site designed to help you “understand and reduce your environmental impact, and save you money while we’re at it. Through our tools you can implement personalized actions and track your progress. Our community allows you to share your success and network with other concerned individuals and check out businesses that are doing their part in your neighborhood.”
