What do prospective clients find when they Google you?
If you’ve recently Googled yourself or tested your GQ (Google quotient), then kudos for taking fruitful steps to gauge your success in building a credible ADR presence online.
Wouldn’t it be great to automate the task of monitoring your online reputation? You can, and here are my three favorite tools for doing just that:
- Google Alerts. You can set Google to alert you whenever a certain phrase (such as your own name, your business name, your blog name) shows up on the web. Alerts can be delivered as Google finds results you’re tracking, once daily, or once weekly. In addition to tracking mention of yourself, try using alerts for tracking phrases relevant to your target market, in order to stay abreast of news and serve as a good resource for your ADR clients. This Google Alerts Tutorial will help you set up efficiently.
- TweetBeep. If you’re on Twitter, this tool will help you track mentions of you, your company or any other topic you wish. TweetBeeps will come to you via email and you can set the frequency with which you want to receive them.
- MonitorThis. If you use an RSS reader, you can set up a search that can be monitored across 20 search engines and results delivered to you in an RSS feed as they occur. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Learn about RSS or skip this one.
